Nova-Tier Ability

(Agility + Intelligence)

  • Magnetic Field Manipulation
    • The Violet can control metal objects by manipulating their magnetic fields, pitting her activation roll against either the difficulty of manipulating an item (if stationary) or opposed by the object’s wielder (if possessed)
      • Uses of this power include moving metalic objects from one place to another (up to a distance of your activation roll in yards), attack others with metallic objects (resisted by their defense), or other applications appropriate to this mutation
  • Sense Electromagnetic Fields
    • The Violet can perceive electromagnetic fields which includes anything with an electric current
    • Among other things, the Violet can determine what electrical signals the item is sending / receiving, how the item stores and uses electricity, and the items magnetic potential
  • Electromagnetic Influence
    • By manipulating the magnetic portion of an electromagnetic field, the Violet can manipulate machines that use electricity directly with her mind or power devices that are otherwise powered down
    • She can substitute her power rating for a relevant technical engineering roll when operating a device and the difficulty to power an object is determined by its size: handheld objects are Easy, Basketball-sized objects are Average, person-sized objects are Hard, Mule/Skiff-sized objects are Formidable, Shuttle-sized objects are Heroic, Small Transport-sized objects are Incredible, Gunship-sized objects are Ridiculous, a Station/Cruiser-sized objects is Impossible
  • Electromagnetic Wave Assault
    • The Violet can directly target creatures and objects with a destabilizing electromagnetic wave on any target she can see
    • The Violet’s activation success opposes the target’s defense roll with the excess dealing Stun. The Violet uses her Alate Violet or Drone Violet Asset rating as her “weapon” damage die when using this power.

Supernova-Tier Ability

(Technical Engineering / Electronics)

  • Power Augmentation
    • The Violet can add their skill die to all activation rolls
  • Electromagnetic Pulse
    • This ability manifests as a concentrated blast at a specific target (resisted by the target’s defense roll or a set difficulty if a large object is targeted), success allows the Violet to completely disable the electronic device
  • Reforge Metal
    • By manipulating the internal magnetic fields of an object, the Violet can re-forge a metal object’s structure and shape, the size of the object determines the difficulty: handheld objects are Easy, Basketball-sized objects are Average, person-sized objects are Hard, Mule/Skiff-sized objects are Formidable, Shuttle-sized objects are Heroic, Small Transport-sized objects are Incredible, Gunship-sized objects are Ridiculous, a Station/Cruiser-sized objects is Impossible
    • This can also be used to assemble mostly metallic objects (using the same size difficulty chart)
  • Electromagnetic Field Generation
    • This ability can be used reflexively to repel a single kinetic attack
    • The Violet can also create an electromagnetic shield that lasts for the entire encounter
    • The shield grants her an armor rating against most hostile effects equal to 1W per Tier achieved and requires a single action to activate
    • The Violet can create bigger or multiple fields with one activation roll: each additional human-sized object within line of sight adds +4 to the difficulty while each size increase also adds +4 to the difficulty (a small room is Easy, a small shuttle is Average, a small transport ship is Hard, a gunship is Formidable, an alliance cruiser is Heroic, a state is Incredible, an entire country is Ridiculous, and an entire continent is Impossible)
    • Against other sources of harm (such as radiation), the Violet’s roll opposes the source if armor doesn’t apply
  • Multi-Target Powers
    • The Violet can use any of her Nova or Supernova-Tier abilities on multiple targets within line of sight but suffers a -1 step penalty to her Skill Rating to do so. If the penalty reduces her skill to 0, she cannot attempt the action.

Hypernova-Tier Ability

(Comptech, Highly Education, Math Whiz)

  • Power Augmentation
    • Add the highest applicable Asset to the activation roll
  • Scope: Area
  • Supernova-Tier powers that cover an area and are elevated to a Hypernova-Tier scale cover a wider area: Easy is a transport/skiff, Average is a patrol boat/hovercraft, Hard is a cruiser/city, Formidable is an entire state, Heroic is an entire region, Incredible is an entire continent, Ridiculous is an entire hemisphere, and Impossible is an entire planet.
  • Scope: Damage
    • Supernova-Tier abilities elevated to Hypernova-Tier abilities deal damage or provide armor bonuses in ship scale instead of personal scale.
